The A-Ward office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recommended blacklisting filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production company, B62 Studios, over alleged repeated violations of civic and safety norms during the shooting of the film Dhurandhar 2.
According to BMC sources, multiple breaches were reported on set. In one instance, cooking gas was allegedly used at the shooting location without requisite permissions. In another case, the production team reportedly changed the shooting location without prior approval from the civic authorities.
Officials further stated that burning torches were used in a high-security zone during filming, raising serious safety concerns. The situation prompted intervention by the Mumbai Police, who reportedly seized equipment from the spot.
Additionally, crew members allegedly used a building terrace for shooting without obtaining mandatory civic permissions. Two generator vans were also operated at the location without valid approvals from the local administration, officials said.
Taking serious note of the violations, the A-Ward office has written to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC), recommending that the studio be permanently barred from filming through the state government’s single-window film shooting portal.
As part of initial action, the BMC has already forfeited the production’s ₹25,000 security deposit and has proposed an additional penalty of ₹1 lakh.
However, officials clarified that the studio has not yet been officially blacklisted. The proposal has been forwarded for further approval and necessary action.
