Mumbai Constable Injured After Falling Off Lower Parel Bridge as Tempo Hits Two-Wheeler

 

A police constable riding a two-wheeler was injured after a tempo hit his vehicle on the Datta Nalawade Bridge on Senapati Bapat Marg in Lower Parel on Tuesday evening. The impact of the collision caused the constable to lose balance and fall directly off the bridge.

 

The injured constable has been identified as Ankit Surve. According to information received, the tempo suddenly swerved in the middle of the road due to a mechanical fault. At the same time, Surve, who was passing through the area on his two-wheeler, was hit by the tempo with great force, resulting in him being thrown off the bridge.

 

Following the accident, Surve was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors have said that, fortunately, he did not suffer any serious injuries.

 

Ankit Surve is attached to the Bandra Police Station, while the accident occurred within the jurisdiction of the N.M. Joshi Marg Police Station. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, and the tempo driver has been taken into custody.
