Mumbai Fire: Woman Injured After Blaze Breaks Out in 24-Storey Goregaon Tower

A fire incident was reported on March 22, 2026, at 7:22 pm at Lakshya Chandi Building, located in Gokuldham Colony on Krishna Vatika Marg, near the District Court in Goregaon (East). According to information received from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade control room, the blaze was confined to the sixth floor of the ground-plus-24-storey high-rise structure. Emergency response teams were immediately alerted following the report, and necessary actions were initiated to assess the situation and prevent further escalation within the residential building premises at the time of the incident.

Multiple agencies, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade, police personnel, Adani services, 108 ambulance teams, and ward staff, were mobilized to the site to manage the situation efficiently. The Mumbai Fire Brigade later classified the incident as a Level-I fire at 7:47 pm. During the rescue operation, one woman was safely evacuated by fire personnel and was transported to Trauma Care Hospital in a private vehicle for medical attention. No further details regarding additional injuries or damage were immediately available at the time of the latest update reported at 7:49 pm.

In another similar incident, a Level-1 fire broke out in a bedroom on the ninth floor of DB Wood Building on Krushna Vatika Road in Gokul Dham, Goregaon East, early on February 13, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) said in an official statement. The incident was reported by a citizen at 9:11 am. The blaze was restricted to electric wiring, installations, kitchen items, and household belongings inside the bedroom of the ground-plus-45-storey residential tower.

The MFB classified the incident as a Level-1 fire at 9:25 am and immediately began firefighting operations using the building’s fixed fire safety systems. As a precaution, residents were evacuated and moved to the refuge area and terrace. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The firefighting operation involved an assistant divisional fire officer, two senior station officers, four station officers, four firefighters, four junior firefighters, an assistant water tender operator, along with equipment such as a turntable ladder, hydraulic platform, heavy rescue firefighting vehicle, breakdown van, quick response vehicle, water quick response vehicle, and a 108 ambulance.

In addition to the MFB, local police, personnel from the electricity distribution company, 108 ambulance services, and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) staff were deployed at the site. The fire was brought under control swiftly and was completely extinguished by 10:17 am. Cooling operations continued afterward to prevent any possible flare-ups, while officials began investigating the exact cause of the fire.
