Mumbai Local Train: Kasara-Bound Train Overshoots Mulund Station’s Platform Number 3 by Two Coaches

A local train to Kasara was overshot platform number 3 at the Mulund local railway station by two rail caches on Tuesday evening, February 18, which caused inconvenience to passengers. The sources told The Times of India newspaper that the incident took place at around 9.23 am, causing the train to get stuck for at least 10 minutes, which led to delays in other Mumbai local terrain services.

According to railway sources, the train was operated by Motorman KG Bhavasar and Train Manager V Singapure, reported TOI. Overshooting caused frustration among commuters and office goers, who had to jump onto the tracks to reach the platform. Those who wanted to board at the rare end found it difficult to board the train.

The overshooting was caused by a motorman who did not apply the breaks at the right time while approaching Mulund platform number 3. Railway officials will conduct an inquiry to determine the cause of the overshoot and assess whether corrective action is necessary.
