Mumbai Local Train Mega Block on February 8, 2026: Services to Be Affected on Central, Western and Harbour Lines on Sunday

Commuters to face significant disruption as Mumbai’s suburban local trains will see cancellation and delays due to a Sunday mega block for essential maintenance is scheduled across all major lines this Sunday, February 8, 2026. The Western, Central, Harbour, and Trans-Harbour lines all will experience significant service diversions and cancellations as railway officials to carry out track repairs and overhead equipment maintenance work.

Central Line

On the Central Main Line, a 5-hour block will be in effect between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm. Slow local trains leaving CSMT between 10:48 am and 3:45 pm will be diverted to the fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar. These trains will stop at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla before returning to the slow line.

Slow trains departing Ghatkopar from 10:19 am and 3:52 pm will similarly run on the fast line to CSMT, following the same limited-stop pattern.

Western Line

Western Railway (WR) will implement a "Jumbo Block" between Santacruz and Goregaon from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. During this period, all slow local trains will operate on the fast tracks. Due to platform limitations, these diverted trains will not stop at Vile Parle or Ram Mandir stations. Passengers for these stations are advised to use the Harbour Line (Churchgate–Goregaon services), which will remain operational at these locations.

Harbour and Trans-Harbour Lines

The most significant service suspensions will occur on the Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines between 11:05 am and 4:05 pm. Services between Vashi and Panvel on the Harbour line will be completely suspended. No trains will run from CSMT to Panvel/Belapur or vice versa during this window. However, special local trains will continue to operate between CSMT and Vashi.

Local trains will only operate between Thane and Vashi on the Trans-Harbour line. All services towards Panvel departing from Thane or Panvel remain cancelled during the block period.

Uran Line: No blocks have been announced; services will run as per the regular Sunday schedule.
