Mumbai Local Sunday Mega Block: Mumbai local train services will face disruptions on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in the Central and Harbour lines of the suburban railway network. Central Railway (CR) has announced a scheduled Sundaymega block to carry out essential engineering and maintenance work on both the Main and Harbour lines. While there is no weekend block on the Trans-Harbour and Uran lines.
Central Line
On the Central Line (CR), maintenance work will be held between Matunga and Mulund railway stations. Both the Up and Down fast lines will witness a block from 11:20 am to 3:45 pm on Sunday.
Down fast services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:40 am and 3:10 pm will be diverted to the slow line at Matunga. These trains will observe all scheduled halts between Matunga and Mulund before being re-diverted to the fast track at Mulund.
Similarly, Up fast services leaving Thane between 11:03 am and 3:38 pm will be shifted to the slow line at Mulund. These diversions are expected to result in arrivals being approximately 15 minutes behind schedule.
Harbour Line
CR announced a block on the Harbour line between Kurla and Vashi from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm on Sunday. All Down services to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel leaving CSMT between 10:34 am and 3:36 pm are cancelled. Up services towards CSMT departing from Panvel, Belapur, or Vashi between 10:17 am and 3:47 pm will also be suspended.
However, special local trains will run on the CSMT–Kurla and Panvel–Vashi sections. Harbour Line ticket holders are permitted to travel via the Trans-Harbour route (Thane-Vashi/Nerul) between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Note: No daytime block on Western, Trans-Harbour and Uran lines this Sunday.
