Mumbai Local Train Mega Block on Sunday: Local train services on the Central, Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines will be affected on Sunday, May 17, due to scheduled mega blocks and infrastructure work being carried out by Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) to carry out essential maintenance work. The blocks have been planned for the launch of foot over bridge (FOB) girders at Vidyavihar and Naigaon Railway stations.
Central Line
A mega block will be imposed on the fast lines between Thane and Kalyan railway stations from 10.40 am to 3.40 pm. During this period, down fast and semi-fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 9.34 am and 3.03 pm will be diverted to the down slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations. These trains will halt at Kalva, Mumbra and Diva stations in addition to their scheduled stops and are expected to arrive around 10 minutes late.
Similarly, up fast and semi-fast services departing Kalyan between 10.28 am and 3.40 pm will run on the up slow line between Kalyan and Thane, stopping at Diva, Mumbra and Kalva stations. These services will also be delayed by around 10 minutes.
Harbour LineA A
Sunday mega block will be carried out on the Harbour Line between Vashi and Panvel from 11.05 am to 4.05 pm. During the block, up Harbour line services towards CSMT departing Panvel between 10.33 am and 3.49 pm will remain cancelled. Down Harbour line services for Panvel and Belapur, leaving CSMT between 9.45 am and 3.12 pm will also remain cancelled. Central Railway said special local trains will operate between CSMT and Vashi during the block period.
Trans-Harbour Line
On the Trans-Harbour Line, only Thane-Vashi services will operate between 11.05 am and 4.05 pm. Services towards Thane departing Panvel between 11.02 am and 3.53 pm and trains towards Panvel departing Thane between 10.01 am and 3.20 pm will remain cancelled.

Night Block at Vidyavihar Station
CR will also undertake a special traffic and power block between Kurla and Bhandup local railway stations during the intervening night of May 16 (Saturday) and 17 (Sunday) for launching girders of a new foot over bridge at Vidyavihar station.
The block will remain in force from 12.10 am to 4.40 am on the up and down slow lines, fast lines, and the fifth and sixth lines. Several local trains will be diverted, short-terminated, short-originated or cancelled during the night block. Some services running on slow lines will be diverted to fast corridors and will skip stations, including Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur.
Western Line
Western Railway (WR) will also carry out a 3-hour night block at Naigaon station for launching foot over bridge girders. The block on the up and down slow lines will remain in force from 1 am to 4 am, while the fast line block will continue from 2.30 am to 3.30 am during the intervening night of May 16 and 17.
During the block period, fast trains will run on slow lines between Mumbai Central and Santacruz. Some down slow services will also be diverted to the down fast line between Bhayandar and Vasai Road.
Railway officials said some suburban services on the Western Line would remain cancelled and detailed information would be available with station masters across the suburban network.
