Central Railway has announced a special traffic and power block at Kasara railway station on Wednesday, May 7, affecting suburban train operations on the route. According to railway authorities, the power block will remain in effect from 3.50 pm to 5.50 pm. During this period, local train services on both the UP and DOWN lines between Asangaon and Kasara stations will remain suspended. As a result, several suburban trains have either been short-terminated or short-originated at Asangaon and Kasara stations. The railway administration has urged commuters to check revised schedules before beginning their journey to avoid inconvenience and overcrowding at affected stations.

Several Kasara-bound local trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will operate only up to Asangaon during the block period. Train No. Kasara 19, departing at 1.10 pm, will terminate at Asangaon at 3.22 pm. Train No. Kasara 21, which leaves CSMT at 2.17 pm, will arrive at Asangaon at 4.04 pm. Similarly, Train No. Kasara 23, departing from CSMT at 2.46 pm, will also be short-terminated at Asangaon at 4.49 pm. Railway officials said the temporary operational changes are necessary to safely complete maintenance work related to the power block and ensure smooth functioning of the railway infrastructure.

Central Railway has also announced revised departures for trains originating from Asangaon towards CSMT after the block arrangements. Train No. Kasara 24 will depart from Asangaon at 4.13 pm and reach CSMT at 5.51 pm. Train No. Kasara 26 is scheduled to leave Asangaon at 4.54 pm and arrive at CSMT at 6.34 pm. Meanwhile, Train No. Kasara 28 will depart from Asangaon at 5.39 pm and reach CSMT at 7.19 pm. Passengers have been advised to note these changes carefully, as regular train schedules between Kasara and Asangaon will remain disrupted until the completion of the maintenance and power-related work.

The railway administration also informed commuters about the final services operating before the block begins. The last local train towards Kasara before the shutdown will leave CSMT at 12.30 pm, while the final train towards CSMT from Kasara will depart at 2.42 pm. After completion of the block, the first local service towards Kasara will resume from CSMT at 4.50 pm. Similarly, the first train towards CSMT after restoration of services will depart from Kasara at 6.17 pm. Central Railway requested passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and expect delays, crowding, and schedule adjustments during the affected period on Wednesday evening.

Earlier on May 7, Central Railway had also carried out a mid special block between Umbermali and Atgaon railway stations during the early morning hours. The maintenance work was conducted between 2.55 am and 4.10 am, impacting several train operations on the route. Due to the block, the Kasara-CSMT local train departed later than scheduled at 4.20 am instead of its usual timing of 3.51 am. Railway officials stated that multiple mail and express trains were also delayed or halted temporarily during the maintenance activity. The block was undertaken to complete essential technical and infrastructure-related work safely and efficiently.
