Amid the rising threat of drug abuse in the city, Mumbai Police has gone into full action mode, adopting a strict stance to make the metropolis drug-free. Authorities have made it clear that no leniency will be shown in cases related to narcotics.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti stated that a zero-tolerance policy is being strictly enforced against drug-related offences. He emphasized that individuals involved in selling, supplying, or consuming drugs will not be spared, and stringent legal action will be taken at every level.

Over the past few months, the police have conducted multiple raids across different parts of the city. These operations have led to the seizure of drugs worth several crores and the arrest of numerous drug peddlers.

Significantly, the police have also intensified their crackdown on drug networks operating in and around schools and colleges to protect the youth from falling prey to substance abuse.

Investigations have revealed that several drug rackets were specifically targeting young individuals. Lured by easy money and influenced by bad company, many youths were getting trapped in the network. Police are now focusing on dismantling these networks at their roots.

Mumbai Police has appealed to citizens to report any suspicious drug-related activities immediately. Officials believe that public cooperation is crucial in effectively tackling the issue.

Reiterating its commitment, Mumbai Police stated that sustained operations will continue to eliminate drugs from the city. The Commissioner’s strong message is being seen as a major warning, with more large-scale anti-drug operations expected in the coming days.
