MNS Chief Raj Thackeray Says India Should Have Backed Iran, Warns of Future Consequences

Raj Thackeray addressed the public on the occasion of Gudi Padwa at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. During this event, the MNS chief talked about various important incidents that are currently happening across the world, including Middle East tension. During the event, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray launched a scathing attack on both the central and state BJP governments.

On the Iran-Israel conflict, Raj Thackeray stated that Iran has stood by India for many years. He also pointed out that India sources a significant portion of its oil requirements from Iran. While speaking to public at Gudi Padwa event he said, "Prime Minister Should have done certain things and as Iran always stood by us, the kind of attacks are happening on Iran, in such condition, we should have extended support to them." He further added, "Prime Minister did not issue a condemnation on the death of Ali Khamenei’s death. Nor did he give a statement on the attack on Iran."

Iran stood firmly behind India 

In this context, he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to articulate a firm stance on the issue. He noted that Iran had stood firmly behind India regarding the Jammu and Kashmir issue, yet India failed to reciprocate that support. He warned that the nation would have to bear the consequences of this failure in the future.

In his speech, Raj Thackeray paid tribute to Maharashtra's influential figures, spanning historical leaders like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Shahu Maharaj to modern architects like Balasaheb Thackeray and Sharad Pawar, and thinkers such as Prabodhankar Thackeray, V.S. Page, Hedgewar, V.K. Rajwade, Babasaheb Purandare, and Ranjit Mehendale. He criticized the state's focus on celebrating their anniversaries while neglecting their core ideologies, resulting in superficial reverence.
