The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Padwa Mela organised by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena at Shivaji Park on March 19. The restrictions will be implemented from 1 pm until midnight under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Authorities expect a significant surge in vehicular movement from across Maharashtra, prompting these measures to prevent congestion and maintain smooth traffic flow near the venue. The advisory focuses on regulating movement, ensuring safety, and minimising inconvenience for commuters in the busy Dadar area during the large gathering.

Key Roads Under Parking RestrictionsParking will be prohibited on major stretches across Dadar to avoid congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow. These include SVS Road between Siddhivinayak Temple Junction and Yes Bank Junction, Keluskar Road North and South, MB Raut Marg, Pandurang Nayak Marg Road No 5, Dadasaheb Rege Marg, Lt Dilip Gupte Marg from Shivaji Park Gate No 4 to Shitladevi Temple Junction, and NC Kelkar Marg from Gadkari Junction to Hanuman Temple Junction. Officials stated that these restrictions are necessary to manage the anticipated heavy traffic during the event.

Traffic Diversions to Manage FlowTraffic diversions will be implemented across several routes depending on real-time conditions to ease congestion. Vehicles heading towards SVS Road will be diverted through alternate routes such as SK Bole Road, Agar Bazaar, Portuguese Church, Gokhale Road, and LJ Road. Additional diversions will also be in place via Raja Badhe Chowk and nearby junctions. Authorities will monitor traffic continuously and regulate vehicular movement to prevent bottlenecks around the event venue.

Authorities Appeal for Public CooperationThe advisory, issued on March 18, 2026, urges citizens to cooperate with traffic authorities and follow the guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
