Mumbai Vendor Sells Non-Veg Pani Puri: Unique Twist from Bohri Mohalla Sparks Buzz Online
Indian street food is known across the world for its vibrant culture. It offers everything from spicy snacks to tangy chaat right on the street. Among all the street foods, people love Pani Puri, also known as golgappa, the most. Pani Puri is made with crispy puris filled with spicy mashed potatoes, chickpeas and tangy flavoured water. But now, a Mumbai street food vendor has come up with a non-veg pani puri. In Mumbai’s Bohri Mohalla, this dish is gaining popularity, especially during Ramzan, as people love having a twist in pani puri for iftar.
Bohri Mohalla is known for its rich food culture, and now this new non-veg version of Pani Puri is gaining popularity. Recently, a food blogger posted a video of this unique dish on Instagram. The clip shows how this unique dish is prepared. The dish is called Chana Batata Tilli Handi. The clip shows how the vendor makes it with meat and chutney instead of traditional puri.
Internet Reacts
The video has gained more than 1.9 million views and 26 thousand likes. As the dish is named non-veg pani puri, many internet users questioned the absence of pani and puri; others found it yummy. “Ye to pehli baar dekha. But it seems yummy," read a comment. Another asked, “Where are pani and puri?" “Uska muh dekhkr lag raha h badi majburi me khaya hai," said a user. An individual stated, “OMG Looks yummy." “We want justice for pani puri," commented another. An account posted, “Kidney. Cheeee. Aise experiments mat kijiye pleasee."
This is not the first time Pani Puri got a twist. In the streets of Ahmednagar, a street vendor recently drew widespread attention for serving rainbow-coloured Pani Puri. Putting a creative spin on the popular snack, he presented the crispy puris in striking shades of violet, green, red and yellow. What made the colourful treat even more intriguing was the vendor’s claim about its ingredients. According to him, the vibrant colours are not created using artificial food dyes. Instead, he uses natural ingredients such as Indian blackberries, mint or spinach, beetroot and turmeric to give the pani puri its distinctive and eye-catching appearance.
