Mumbai Weather Forecast: Temperatures Likely Hit 40°C in Suburbs Areas

First week of march brought the heatwave in Mumbai as the temperature in many parts reached above 30 degree Celsius. . The India Meteorological Department was said to have issued a Yellow Alert for March 4 to 6 covering the districts of Thane, Palghar and Raigad, cautioning about hot and humid conditions. Forecasters indicated that maximum temperatures could climb to 37 degrees Celsius during this period. 

The IMD's March-May 2026 Hot Weather Outlook predicted above-normal minimum and maximum temperatures for most of India. An increased number of heatwave days is expected, particularly in east and east-central India, parts of the southeastern peninsula, and areas of northwest and west-central India. Specifically, above-normal heatwave days are anticipated in West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, parts of Maharashtra, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, and sections of north Tamil Nadu.
