Mumbai Weather Update: Temperature Likely to Drop Amid Changing Weather Patterns

Mumbaikars are dealing with intense heat from March an April and even in May month citizens are facing oppressive humidity in first week. However there are reports that now the intensity of the heat will subside starting Tuesday due to a shift in weather patterns. Vidarbha region is expected to remain hot throughout the week, while the rest of the state is likely to find relief from the heat.

Weather expert Athreya Shetty reports that easterly hot winds will abate, and sea breezes will stabilize quickly, preventing them from heating up. Westerly monsoon winds are expected to activate within days, lowering temperatures. A heatwave warning is in effect for the Vidarbha districts of Wardha and Yavatmal on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mumbai’s Mercury to Drop to 32°C

Mumbai's maximum temperature is expected to drop from the current range of 36–38°C down to 32°C. Temperatures in Central Maharashtra are also likely to fall from above 40°C to below 38°C. Vidarbha, however, will remain sweltering. Meanwhile, humidity levels in Mumbai are not expected to decrease; as a result, Mumbaikars will still have to endure the oppressive heat.

The monsoon has already arrived in the Andaman Islands and is expected to reach Kerala around May 26. Subsequently, the monsoon is projected to arrive in the Konkan region (specifically the southern Konkan belt) by May 30, with its arrival in Mumbai anticipated during the first week of June.
