Mumbai: A video of woman confronting BJP leader and Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan during a traffic jam has now released a new video giving her point of view about the incident. Woman identified as Teena Choudhry stated that she was returning after dropping her daughter to class and what was meant to be a short trip became long due to heavy traffic reportedly due to the BJP protest over the women's reservation bill.
After the video went viral she received many messages regarding safety, she stated that she is safe and fine and I appreciate the concern. While narrating the whole scene she said, "on April 21, I dropped my daughter off for her music class at four. I was meant to pick her up at 4.45. we got stuck in a jam there. I was in my car for 25 minutes.” Unable to move due to traffic, she exited her car to investigate. She recounted a long wait, repeatedly asking police officers to move two buses blocking commuters from making a U-turn, but received no response.
Explaining the bottle incident, she clarified she threw it on the ground, not at protesters, to get the police's attention, as a divider prevented her from approaching them directly. Choudhry added that her frustration, already high after hours of waiting for information, peaked during her interaction with Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan.
“Regarding my outburst with Mr. Mahajan, by then the time was 6.15. I had no idea when I would be able to reach my child. Mr. Mahajan was actually the only person in that rally who at least tried to hear what I was saying. On his instructions, the two buses were moved and we all took a U-turn and joined the main road." She also requested that the incident not be politicized, emphasizing that she did not want her experience used to target any party, as she believes all demonstrate a similar disregard for the public.
