A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in the Satpur Colony locality of Nashik when a two-year-old boy lost his life after a portion of an old, crumbling house gave way. The structure, located near the Workers’ Welfare Board premises, had reportedly been in a severely weakened state for quite some time. On Wednesday evening, the deteriorated wall suddenly collapsed without warning, trapping the child under the debris. The victim has been identified as Mohammad Ujer Khan. According to local residents, the toddler had been playing close to the abandoned structure when the incident occurred, leaving the neighbourhood stunned and grief-stricken.

Residents immediately rushed to rescue the injured child and quickly transported him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite efforts by doctors to save him, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The sudden loss of the young boy has cast a shadow of sorrow across the community and sparked fear among families living nearby. Many locals pointed out that the dangerous condition of the building had been visible for days, raising concerns about why preventive measures were not taken earlier to avert such a devastating accident.

Following the incident, a case has been registered at Satpur Police Station, and authorities have launched a detailed probe into the matter. Police officials visited the site to assess the circumstances surrounding the collapse and are examining whether negligence played a role. The tragedy has once again highlighted the alarming condition of several ageing houses and structures in Satpur Colony. Residents have urged the municipal corporation and concerned departments to immediately inspect vulnerable buildings and initiate urgent repairs or demolition to prevent further loss of innocent lives in the area.
