Ram Navami 2025: Mumbai Police Deploys Over 14,000 Personnel Across City; Warn of Strict Action Against Troublemakers
The Mumbai Police has made elaborate security arrangements ahead of Ram Navami celebrations, with over 14,000 personnel set to be deployed across the city to ensure law and order. The festival, which will be observed with traditional fervour on Sunday, is expected to witness large gatherings and processions at several locations.
According to officials, strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to create disturbances or disrupt peace during the festivities.
As part of the security plan, more than 11,000 police personnel, along with around 2,500 officers from various units, will be deployed across sensitive and high-footfall areas in the city. Additionally, Quick Response Teams (QRTs), Riot Control Police, and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS) have been stationed to prevent any untoward incidents.
To maintain smooth conduct of processions and public events, the Mumbai Police, in coordination with the Traffic Department, has deployed seven Additional Commissioners of Police, 20 Deputy Commissioners (DCPs), 51 Assistant Commissioners (ACPs), and 2,500 officers and constables.
Speaking to the media, Joint Commissioner of Police, Satyanarayan Chaudhary, said that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful celebrations. “All officers and personnel will remain present on the ground throughout the day. Special focus has been given to areas identified as sensitive based on past experiences,” he said.
The police have also issued advisories to organisers of rallies and the general public, urging everyone to cooperate and celebrate the festival peacefully.
