Rohit Shetty House Firing Case: Main Shooter Cites Family Compulsions Behind Alleged Firing

Investigators have identified Deepak Sharma as the main shooter who allegedly carried out the firing. During interrogation, several details about Deepak’s family background have come to light. Police sources said he belongs to a family comprising two brothers and three sisters. His younger sister was married last year, for which the family had to mortgage their house and take a loan.

Additionally, one of his sisters was reportedly abandoned by her husband due to illness, and her responsibility now rests on Deepak. Citing financial distress and mounting family obligations, Deepak allegedly agreed to commit the crime for money.

Police sources further revealed that Deepak got cold feet before the firing. He allegedly purchased and consumed alcohol before executing the attack.

During questioning, it was also disclosed that Deepak and his three associates were promised a total of ₹3 lakh for carrying out the firing. An advance payment of ₹50,000 had already been made.

The investigation has also revealed that Shubham Lonkar and Arju Bishnoi had initially approached a man identified as Sumit Kushwaha to execute the firing at Rohit Shetty’s residence. However, for reasons yet unknown, Sumit did not carry out the task. Despite this, he remains on the police radar due to his alleged association with the accused.

Meanwhile, the Instagram account of arrested accused Sunny has also come under scrutiny. Police are probing social media links and examining the wider network connected to the accused.

The Mumbai Police continue their interrogation in the Rohit Shetty firing case, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding accused.
