Nagpur, June 30

Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) has declared the trials for Under-14 and Under-16 district players from July 5 to July 9 at district places.

Lokmat Times in its June 30 issue highlighted how district units affiliated with VCA are feeling neglected. The officials of district bodies have alleged that the VCA is not conducting enough activities for them and concentrating only on Nagpur city players. As the news appeared in Lokmat Times on Wednesday, the VCA swung into action and immediately declared the trials.

According to the schedule the trials will be organised at 11 places from 7 a.m to 9 a.m. including Amravati (U-16 on July 5, U-14 on July 6), Yavatmal ( U-16 on July 5 , U-14 on July 6), Wardha ( U-16 on July 5, U-14 on July 6), Buldhana ( U-16 on July 5, U-14 on July 6), Washim ( U-16 on July 5, U-14 on July 6), Akola (U-16 July 8, U-14 July 9), Gadchiroli ((U-16 July 8, U-14 July 9), Chandrapur ((U-16 July 8, U-14 July 9), Ramtek ((U-16 July 8, U-14 July 9) Bhandara ((U-16 July 8, U-14 July 9) and Gondia ((U-16 July 8, U-14 July 9).

The VCA has also appointed the selectors. They are Amravati (Kishor Wakode), Yavatmal (Amol Khobragade). Wardha ( Nandu Gore), Buldhana (Rahul Chikhalkar),Washim (Shankar Patkar) Akola (Kishor Wakode), Gadchiroli (Deepak Joshi), Chandrapur (Shankar Patkar), Ramtek (Rahul Chikhalkar), bhandara (Nandu gore) and Gondia (Amol Khobragade).

The secretary of Buldhana District Cricket Association Chandrakant Salunke has welcomed the VCA decision and thanked vice-president Prashant Vaidya for taking the cognizance of their concern.
