International softball player and Shiv Chhatrapati awardee Piyush Ambulkar said Nagpur Softball Association (NSA) has become one of the largest and fastest-growing sports organizations in entire Maharashtra and has grown from a few hundred member in the early days to over thousands of member today.

He was speaking during the 41th online session on “Karate & Sports seminar for physical & spiritual development of the students”. These sessions are organized by Karate Budokan International (Vidarbha Region) and hosted by Kyoshi - Harish B Choube (Black Belt 7th Dan) National Chief Instructor & Examiner Karate Budokan International & National Sports Coordinator.

Speaking further Ambylkar said Nagpur Softball Association (NSA), a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization based in Nagpur City, Maharashtra (INDIA), was founded in 2007 and has evolved into one of the strongest softball organization in the country. The growth and development of the association led the Indian Olympic Association to name the NSA the district governing body of softball. The NSA has many important responsibilities as the district governing body of softball in the India, including regulating competition to insure fairness and equal opportunity to the millions of player who annually play the sport.

When the NSA entered the softball picture in 2007, the sport was in a state of confusion with no unified set of playing rules and a national governing body to provide guidance and stability. The NSA changed all that by adopting softball's universally accepted rules of play and by organizing consistent and fair competition across the nation. From this beginning, the.

The Nagpur Softball Association was founded in 2007 by Dr. Suraj Singh Yeutikar. He laid the foundation for softball's future by adopting a universal set of rules, setting the stage for what would become softball's district governing body.

The NSA was named the district governingbBody of Softball in the Maharashtra (INDIA) by the Maharashtra Olympic Committee in 2007.

The Nagpur Softball Association is the District Governing Body of softball in the Maharashtra (INDIA). We develop, administer and promote the sport of softball to provide opportunities for participation and the best possible experience for those involved, said Ambulkar.

Piyush Ambulkar told about the history of Indian softball and said In the year 1944 and 1945 some of the boys played softball game with AMERICAN ARMY stationed in Jodhpur during second world war . The Father of Indian soft ball Dr. Dashrath Mal Mehta was one of them ,later he and his friends started playing Softball regularly. Later they discovered that games similar to Softball were being played in India.The program was concluded with a interactive session and the vote of thanks proposed by Renshi Karunkumar Tirpude Karate Budokan International.
