A sports series webinar was organised by Vasantrao Naik Government Institute of Arts and Social Sciences) recently.

During the webinar students were guided on different topics related to sports. The topic of webinar was ‘Basketball Injuries and Points to Remember While Returning to Court Post Covid19’. The webinar was conducted by Assistant Professor, Physical Education Department, Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management Saket Kanetkar. The webinar started with the history of how the game of basketball was invented. Kanetkar also spoke about original 13 rules of basketball, which has been evolved over the years.He briefly spoke about injuries which players suffer during the game. He also guided students how to take precautions and treatments to those injuries. Kanetkar stressed that basketball is not only a physical sport but also a mental sport, hence along with physical fitness mental fitness is also equally important. He also stressed upon on how post Covid-19 a player should stay motivated and focus on the game.

The webinar was conducted in presence of Principal, Vasantrao Naik Government Institute of Arts and Social Work Dr Sunitra Maharaj Patil, HoD, Department of Physical Education and Sports Dr DG Sontake and Director, Physical Education Department Dr Chayya Patil.
