International powerlifter of the city Alfiya Sheikh recently displayed outstanding performance and bagged four gold medals in Master Sheroo Strongman Championship held at New Delhi recently.

Along with four gold medals, Alfiya won one silver. She won gold medals in the bench press, hammer, monster, and long lift categories. In the open deadlift category, she won silver medal. In the process, she created three national records in the long lift, monster and hammer categories.

Former mayor Sandip Joshi honoured her for bringing laurels to the city. In the recently held Khasdar Krida Mahotsav cricket legend Kapil Dev and union minister Nitin Gadkari felicitated her with 'Krida Bhushan' award. Sandip Joshi appreciated her feat and wished her best luck for future events.
