Social welfare department approves freeship to students

Hundreds of the students belonging to the SC, ST and Other Backward Classes were admitted for higher education in minority colleges through the cap round in 2016-17. But these students were told that their freeship in 2019 has not been approved by the social welfare department.

Therefore, a fee of `4.21 lakh will have to be paid to the colleges for the entire session. Therefore, the students belonging to the scheduled castes and tribes found themselves staring at the bleak future. Sanjay Patil of the Republican Party of India took up their cause and staged agitation in this regard. This issue was raised in the Legislative Assembly. A memorandum was handed over to the Principal Secretary.

Finally, the social welfare department approved the students’ freeship. Therefore, the organization has thanked deputy commissioner of Social Welfare Siddharth Gaikwad and six others. Besides the Commissioner Baba Deshmukh. Ghanshyam Fuse, Vishwas Patil, Sunil Javade, Ashish Fulzele, Anand Pillewan, Charandas Patil, Prerna Patil, Aman Kakade, Rohit Savji, Aniket Mun, Saurabh Bamble, Prashik Gaikwad, Nitin Bod, Tushar Lohbare among others were present on this occasion.
