State-level kabaddi tourney in city from April 30
The tournament is being organised under the initiative of Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The bhoomipujan ceremony of the event was held on Thursday morning with great enthusiasm.
The ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Finance, Planning, Agriculture, Relief & Rehabilitation, Law & Judiciary, and Labour, Ashish Jaiswal; Nagpur mayor Neeta Thakre; president of Nagpur Rural Kabaddi Association Sanket Bawankule; Mahadula Nagar Panchayat President Hemlata Sawji; District Sports Officer Pallavi Dhatrak; Swati Patle; former municipality chairman Rajesh Rangari; Vidarbha Kabaddi Association Joint Secretary Satish Dafle; NMC sports officer Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Jaiswal said that organizing such a grand kabaddi tournament in the Koradi area under the initiative of CM Devendra Fadnavis and revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule is a matter of pride for Vidarbha. He added that the tournament will provide a significant platform for kabaddi players and assured full support for the event.
Mayor Neeta Thakre also extended her best wishes and stated that efforts will be made to boost sports activities in the city. She further assured that the municipal sports department would be provided with necessary sports equipment. he event was anchored by Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Pallavi Dhatrak.
