Nagpur, October 21

The academic sessions could not be started on time due to corona infection. Some school started online classes to get the school fees. But looking at the pandemic situation, the government has instructed to reduce the syllabus by 25 per cent. The schools have to teach less and hence there should be a comensurate deduction in the school fees, urged RTE Action Committee to deputy director -Education.

The schools are closed due to corona. The maintenance expenses have gone down, there are savings on water and electricity expenses. Non-aided schools have even reduced the salaries of the teachers and they are just teaching online and that too limited hours. The parents are being harassed for school fees and threatened that their ward will not be allowed to write exams, if fees is not paid. Constant nagging is done by schools for fees.

According to RTE rules, students from class 1 to 5 cannot be failed in the exams.
