Ujwal Kalsait, Sourabh Bhusari, Ketan Dabe and Devashree Lavhe excelled in their respective categories on the last day of Nagpur District Athletics Championship organised by Nagpur District Athletics Association on Friday.

In Under-18 boys hammer throw category, Ujwal Kalsait, a student of Nandagomukh Junior College threw 30.29 metres to achieve first place. In 400 m Under-20 section, Sourabh Bhusari of Bird Flyers Club clocked 52.26 seconds to secure first place. Ketan Dabe of Om Sai Sporting Club Umred took 55.16 seconds to complete 400 m race in Under-18 boys section. His club mate Devashree Lavhe clocked 1.23 minutes to secure first place in Under-18 girls section. Sakshi Tambakhe of All Pro Track and Firld Club excelled in 400 m race in under-20 category.

Meeting of selected players today

A meeting of the selected players will be held on Saturday at Law College Square at 4 p.m. The information on the schedule of state trials, UID of Indian Athletics Federation, fitness certificate will be given to the participants, informs NDAA secretary Dr Sharad Suryavanshi. NDAA president Gurudeo Nagrale, chairman Umesh Naidu, technical committee chairman Jitendra Ghordadekar, Ramchandra Wani, Prof. Bunty Prasad Yadav, Dr Sanjay Choudhary, Dr Vivekanannd Singh will attend the meeting.
