Nagpur, October 13

Questions are being raised on the Winter Session which is slated to take place in December at Nagpur. Till now the city has not been able to corona and it will be a huge challenge to keep the Winter Assembly premises out of the corona purview. Each and every individual entering the premises will have to be tested for corona. Under these circumstances, thousands of kits will be required during the Assembly. Already due to the shortage of kits, the testing could not be increased. It is likely that this would affect the general public and during Winter Session.

During the two-day Assembly session in Mumbai, each and every executive right from minister, MLAs, PAs, employees, executives and journalist were also tested. Around 50 plus people tested positive during the testing. The Nagpur Winter Session might go on for a week, So, if a person is tested while being given pass, she/he might have to be tested again each day to keep the premises corona free. Even if they are tested ones, thousands of testing kits will be required, and if they decided to do the testing everyday then many more kits will be required.

The total testing in Nagpur has not crossed the 7,000 mark, so from where the additional test kits be managed during the winter session?

Medical staff is also a question!

The corona danger is still lurking on the State and there is an acute shortage of medical professionals to take care of the patients and situation is no different in Nagpur. During the Winter Session, man power will be required for testing, if medical professionals are called from outside, chances are that there would be a shortage of manpower. Similarly, if the medical personnel engaged in Nagpur are pressed into the Assembly duty, then who will take care of the patients in the city? So the government has to decide on getting additional manpower. Deputy director, Health, Dr Sanjay Jaiswal could not be contacted for a comment on the situation.
