Nashik Crime: Man Arrested in Deolali Camp for Sending Obscene Messages to Minor Girl Using Stolen Mobile Phone

Police in the Deolali Camp area of Nashik district in Maharashtra have detained a man accused of sending obscene WhatsApp messages to a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Mohiuddin Syed. During the police investigation, it was revealed that the accused was using a stolen mobile phone to carry out the act. The mobile phone had reportedly been stolen a few days earlier from a woman who was admitted to Bitco Hospital in Nashik. As the investigation progressed, police discovered that the accused himself had allegedly stolen the device before using the same number to contact the minor girl. Officials said the accused began sending obscene and objectionable messages to the girl through WhatsApp soon after obtaining the stolen mobile phone. The incident created concern in the local area after the details of the harassment came to light.

According to the investigation, the accused repeatedly sent vulgar messages to the minor girl living in the Deolali Camp locality and allegedly pressured her to meet him in person. Police officials also found during the inquiry that the accused had allegedly harassed another woman using the same stolen mobile number. He reportedly sent obscene and inappropriate messages to the second woman as well. The repeated misuse of the stolen phone and the targeting of multiple women increased anger among local residents after the matter became known in the area. Police continued gathering information regarding the stolen phone and the messages sent from it. During questioning and verification, investigators connected the theft of the mobile phone from the hospital to the WhatsApp harassment case. Officials then began efforts to trace and locate the accused in the locality.

After learning about the incident, police and local residents jointly laid a trap near the Samrat Group Signal area and managed to catch the accused. Soon after he was detained, angry locals gathered at the spot and allegedly assaulted Mohammad Mohiuddin Syed in public. Following information about the incident, officers from Nashik Road Police immediately reached the location and rescued the accused from the crowd before taking him into custody. Police later registered a case in connection with the matter and began further legal proceedings. Authorities are continuing the investigation into the case, including the theft of the mobile phone and the allegations related to the obscene messages sent to the minor girl and another woman.
