Nashik City Police have issued an official statement urging the public and media to avoid spreading unverified information as investigations continue into the alleged sexual misconduct and conversion-related case linked to a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee, in which several people were arrested.
The statement of Nashik Police came after the TCS stated "false reports" have been circulated against Nida Khan that she is HR and recruiting manager. The IT giant also stated that it had not received any formal complaints through its internal channels on the matter.
"A preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH (prevention of sexual harassment) channels," the tech giant said.

In the statement, the Nashik City Police said media organisations and stakeholders following their action in the case, particularly concerning allegations of harassment of women. They said public trust remains essential for effective and lawful policing.
Authorities also confirmed that the corporate entity associated with the case has extended full cooperation with the investigation. This includes assistance in examining additional allegations related to religious harassment and alleged attempts at conversion. Police noted that the company has taken a “responsible approach” in addressing the matter.
However, officials raised concern over what they described as speculative reporting and misleading social media content circulating across platforms. The police warned that sharing unverified claims could hamper the investigation and create unnecessary panic.
“Citizens and media personnel are urged to exercise caution and restraint while consuming or sharing information,” the statement said, advising the public to rely only on official communication channels for updates. These include the Nashik City Police’s verified social media accounts, official website, and authorised press briefings.
