Ahmedabad Building Fire: Blaze Breaks Out in Third-Floor Flat, Residents Evacuated Safely

A major fire broke out in a third-floor flat of a multi-storey residential building in Ahmedabad on Thursday morning, officials said. Thanks to a timely evacuation, no casualties were reported in the incident. According to officials, residents living on the third floor and above were quickly moved to the terrace as the fire spread, allowing them to escape safely. Firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is underway.

Earlier this week, another fire incident was reported in the city. On Tuesday evening, a blaze broke out in a commercial building near the New Cloth Market in the Sarangpur area of Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services department responded swiftly and rescued four people who were trapped inside the premises. According to the fire department, the blaze was reported around 6 pm in the duct line on the third floor of Sumel-1, C Block, located behind the bustling New Cloth Market. Upon receiving the alert, fire control room officials immediately dispatched multiple teams to the site.

Fire tenders from the Panchkuva fire station were rushed to the spot, while additional support in the form of one ‘Gajraj’ vehicle each was mobilised from Maninagar, Jamalpur and Shahpur fire stations to assist in the firefighting and rescue operations. Officials said that coordinated and timely action by the fire brigade ensured that the blaze was brought under control before it could spread further within the building. During the operation, four individuals who had been trapped inside were safely evacuated and brought to safety.
