AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi Reacts On Nagpur Violence, Blames Maharashtra CM Fadnavis for Intelligence Failure (Watch Video)
The controversy surrounding Aurangzeb’s tomb has intensified in Maharashtra, with Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) staging protests across the state demanding its removal. However, tensions escalated sharply in Nagpur, where a protest led to violence, including incidents of arson and stone-pelting near Chitnis Park and Shivaji Chowk. The unrest has further fueled political tensions, with opposition leaders holding the ruling government accountable for the situation.
Amid growing criticism, the Maharashtra government presented its statement on the Nagpur violence in the Legislative Assembly, with both Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar addressing the issue. Meanwhile, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi reacted strongly to the developments, taking indirect aim at Chief Minister Fadnavis and BJP Minister Nitesh Rane without naming them.

Owaisi accused the government of fueling tensions through provocative statements. “For the past few weeks, ministers and chief ministers have been making the most inflammatory statements. They seem to forget that they hold constitutional positions,” he said. He further alleged that while images of certain historical figures had been burned in Maharashtra without causing unrest, a specific act involving religious texts led to violence only after the authorities failed to intervene.

Taking a swipe at the state leadership, Owaisi stated, “The violence took place near the house of a Union Minister, and the Chief Minister himself belongs to this city. This is a clear failure of the administration. Those in power must set aside their ideology and prioritize governance based on the Constitution.”
