Andhra Pradesh: One Killed, 10 Injured After Lorry Hits Private Bus on Yerra Gudem National Highway in East Godavari

A road accident took place on a  Yerra Gudem National Highway in Devarapalle Mandal of East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Thursday, May 14, after a lorry collided with a private travel bus. One person died in the accident, while 10 others were injured.

A tripper lorry collided with a Sri Venkata Ramana private travel bus carrying 40 passengers from Rajam to Vijayawada, according to the news agency IANS.

Motorists travelling on the same route were immediately informed the Devarapalli police. Police personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured to the Government Hospital in Gopalapuram. The injured were later referred to the Rajahmundry Government Hospital for further treatment. Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.

The body of the deceased was sent to the Rajahmundry Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Naru Sai Anil Kumar from the Panasalavalasa area in Rajam. Police have informed his family members.

According to the police, the private travel bus was travelling from Rajam in Srikakulam district to Vijayawada when the accident occurred.
