Asaram Bapu, who is serving life imprisonment in Jodhpur jail on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl, was admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday night due to ill health.

Three days ago, Asaram Bapu tested COVID-19 positive and his health suddenly deteriorated. He has been admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for further treatment.

Asaram Bapu has been admitted to the ICU of the hospital due to low oxygen level due to corona infection.

According to the doctor, Asaram Bapu had been showing mild symptoms of corona for the past few days. The doctors at the hospital conducted a preliminary examination and admitted him to the ICU.

No information has been released about his condition yet.

Meanwhile, inmates at the Jodhpur Central Jail were found to be infected with the corona last month. About a dozen of inmates at the prison were infected with the corona. All of these corona-positive inmates were then isolated in a prison dispensary.
