Barabanki Accident: 4 Killed, Several Injured as Tempo-Traveller Crashes Into Bus on Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh (Watch Video)

Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh (February 16, 2025): Four people, including a woman, were killed and six others injured after a tempo-traveller collided with a bus on the Purvanchal Expressway in Barabanki district on Sunday.

The bus was coming from Chhattisgarh and the tempo-traveller from Maharashtra, both heading towards Ayodhya. All the deceased and injured were in the tempo-traveller. The police suspect the accident occurred when the tempo-traveller driver fell asleep at the wheel.

According to reports, the rescue teams used a cutter to extricate people trapped in the vehicle. Two injured passengers were taken to a trauma centre in Lucknow, while four others are being treated at the district hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsy.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Kumar Singh said, "A bus broke down on its way to Ayodhya from Chhattisgarh and was being repaired. The seriously injured ones are being sent to Trauma Centre."
