As the PM Modi has announced total lockdown in the country, the nine-day-long festival of 'Navratri' festival will not be as grand as each year but the lull has failed to dampen the spirit of devotees.

Navratri is considered as an important sacred festival in the Hindu religion. Navratri worships Goddess Durga and her various forms which are the epitomes of power and have the ability to bring in anything desired.Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day festival that signifies the victory of good over evil. It is believed that worshipping Goddess Durga during Chaitra Navratri can help get salvation and seek her blessings for the future. Goddess Durga is a symbol of Shakti which means ultimate strength.This year Chaitra Navratri would start from March 25, 2020 (Wednesday) and would end on April 2, 2020 (Thursday). The Ashtami falls on April 1, 2020, while Ram Navami would be celebrated on April 2, 2020.As the country battles the highly contagious virus, faith remains unshaken and devotion increases many folds.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India has reported about 536 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. Nine people have died so far due to the deadly virus.
