Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the government has eased the norms for class 10th and 12th board exams. The Union Cabinet Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal today announced that the students who are not presently in the same location as their board examination centre, because of the lockdown, can appear for the pending exams from a nearby location.

"Thousands of children had moved to their home state due to the crisis, keeping in mind the problem of students appearing in the CBSE board examinations. CBSE has decided that such students can take their board exams in their home district," the Union Minister tweeted.

HRD ministry also confirmed that the students appearing for the boards will be allowed to give the exams from their own schools so that the students do not have to travel to their exam centres. But, there will be no exam centres in containment zones.
