The Centre on April 19 had announced a ''liberalised'' policy, making all above 18 years of age eligible to get vaccinated from May 1. The third phase began on April 1 for all above 45 years of age. 

With the corona vaccine already in short supply in the country, the central government has announced that people above the age of 18 will be vaccinated from May 1. Also, many people have tried to register from midnight today, as the registration for the vaccine was supposed to start from April 28. However, they are getting the message that they can register only if they are above the age of 45 as soon as they enter the year of their birth. This has created confusion among the citizens.

From May 1, citizens between the ages of 18 and 45 will be vaccinated against corona. For this, one has to register online for corona vaccination through Co-win or Arogya Setu app.The registration will start from 4 pm on Wednesday. Registration will be available for people above 45 years of age as before. You can also register for it through www.cowin.gov.in or Co-Win app. You will have to register your mobile number in this. You need to have Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license or voter ID card while registering. 

Check out how to register for getting vaccinated:

  • Go to the official site www.cowin.gov.in.
  • Type your mobile number in Register / Sign in yourself.
  • You will get OTP, drop it there and click.
  • Fill the Vaccine Registration form.
  • Click on schedule appointment.
  • Enter a zip code (e.g. 422601) Select Session- Morning or Afternoon.
  • Select Vaccine center and Date.
  • Book an appointment and confirm it.
  • Appointment details message will come on mobile.
  • Keep this message with you, it will be easier to get vaccinated if you show your identity card and this message at the vaccination center.
