India is currently dealing with a devastating second Covid-19 wave that has swept through the nation, crushing the country's health infrastructure and overburdening frontline medical workers. The outbreak of the second wave of corona is being witnessed across the country. Although the number of new covid cases appears to be declining but deaths due to the virus are on the rise. Vaccination is said to be the best way to control coronavirus.

Now concerns are being expressed over the third wave of corona. Against that background, Union Health Minister Harshvardhan has made an important statement. Regarding the third wave of corona, Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan said, "There is a discussion about whether the third wave of corona will come or not. But at the moment no one can say for sure. However, in the future, mutations in the virus could put children at risk. So thinking about the children we to build infrastructure.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan held a meeting with the Health Ministers of 9 states and Union Territories to review the prevailing COVID situation & progress of vaccination drive in their respective regions through video conferencing. During the meeting, Dr. Harshvardhan expressed over the disease black fungus. Harshvardhan said that concerns have raised due to more number of black fungus patients are being found. States have also been asked to report the disease. During the meeting, Harshvardhan said,"I'd like to emphasise that we need to step up COVID vaccination. Whichever vaccines are available to us, we have to give them as fast as possible. In the coming months, there'll be a significant increase in production capacity in the country".
