15 people have been arrested in connection with violence during a demonstration against the amended citizenship law in Daryaganj in Old Delhi. According to police, the protesters set a private car on fire in the Subhash Marg area on Friday evening. 40 people have been detained in connection with the demonstrations and violence, including 8 minors.

On the other hand, Chandrashekhar Azad, the head of Bhim Army on Saturday morning, has once again been detained by the police. He was detained outside Jama Masjid. Chandrashekhar on Friday had reached Jama Masjid area with hundreds of his Bhim Army activists to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Among the 40 people who have been detained by the police in the Daryaganj case, 8 people are 14-15 years old. The injured in lathicharge are being treated at Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital. A child has suffered a head injury. Many policemen have also been injured in this incident. 

Earlier, in the Jamia Milia Islamia case, the police had detained more than 50 students, after which the students demonstrated outside the police headquarters till late night. The students detained were released after their demand.
