Gold prices remained largely unchanged on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya after witnessing fluctuations in the previous two sessions. In Delhi, 24-carat gold had risen by ₹220 per 10 grams, followed by a sharp drop of ₹600 the next day, and is now steady. Similarly, 22-carat gold increased by ₹200 before falling ₹550 and has now stabilized. The muted movement on such a significant buying day reflects a temporary pause in volatility. Silver has also followed a similar trend, showing no price change today after recent ups and downs in the bullion market.

Akshaya Tritiya Gold Buying Muhurat

Buying gold on Akshaya Tritiya is considered highly auspicious, and demand typically surges during this festival. As per Drik Panchang, the gold purchase muhurat starts at 10:49 AM on April 19 and continues until 05:51 AM on April 20, offering a total duration of 19 hours and 2 minutes. The most favourable Choghadiya timings include the morning muhurat from 10:49 AM to 12:20 PM, the afternoon from 01:58 PM to 03:35 PM, and the evening from 06:49 PM to 10:57 PM. Additional late-night and early morning slots are from 01:43 AM to 03:05 AM and 04:28 AM to 05:51 AM on April 20, respectively.

Silver prices have also stabilized after recent volatility. On April 17, silver fell sharply by ₹5,000 per kilogram, followed by a strong rise of ₹10,000 on April 18. Today, however, prices remain unchanged. In Delhi, silver is trading at ₹2,75,000 per kilogram, with Mumbai and Kolkata witnessing the same rate. Chennai has the highest price among major metros at ₹2,80,100 per kilogram, highlighting slight regional variations despite an overall stable trend in the market.

Gold has delivered strong returns over the past year, further boosting its appeal during Akshaya Tritiya. Last year, the price stood at ₹95,000 per 10 grams during the festival, while it is now around ₹1.56 lakh, marking an increase of nearly 60 percent. Market experts remain optimistic about the future outlook. According to Ajay Kedia, Director of Kedia Advisory, gold prices could cross ₹2 lakh per 10 grams by the next Akshaya Tritiya if current trends continue.
