The accident caused thick smoke, forcing the temporary closure of the highway. District police, the collector, and other senior officials reached the site to assess the situation. Fire brigades from Nadiad, Ahmedabad, and Vadodara were called in to help control the smoke and secure the area.
Four bowser trucks and two emergency fire tenders were deployed. Firefighters used foam and water to suppress the smoke while soil was poured over the area to reduce further risks.
District Collector Amit Prakash Yadav said that the highway would reopen once visibility improved. He confirmed that additional fire personnel were brought in to speed up the process. “The highway will be opened again as soon as the visibility is completely cleared,” Yadav told ANI. “To ensure quick action, we called fire teams from Ahmedabad and Vadodara, along with Nadiad’s fire department.”
Firefighter Ashok Sharma said that while no injuries were reported, one person was taken to the hospital as a precaution. “When we arrived, no one was at the scene, but I heard one person was taken to the hospital,” Sharma told ANI.
