Gujarat Bomb Threat: Six District Courts, Including Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, Receive Threat Emails; Premises Evacuated for Security Checks

Six courts across Gujarat were thrown into alert mode on Tuesday after they received bomb threat emails, prompting immediate evacuation and intensive security inspections, reported PTI, citing officials. Among the affected courts were the district courts in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Authorities said the threatening messages were sent to the official email accounts of the respective courts. This development comes close on the heels of a similar incident in which multiple educational institutions were targeted. Police and court staff acted swiftly to ensure the safety of advocates, litigants, and employees present on the premises.

As per a report by The Indian Express, the threatening emails were sent to district courts located in Vadodara, Valsad, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar. Following the receipt of the message, senior police personnel rushed to the Vadodara district court complex. The premises were cleared as a precautionary step, and a detailed search operation was launched. Security agencies thoroughly scanned the buildings and surrounding areas to rule out any suspicious objects. Similar precautionary measures were undertaken at the other affected court complexes to prevent any untoward incident.

The incident occurred just a day after more than 25 schools across Ahmedabad received bomb threat emails, causing panic among parents and school authorities. On Monday, officials evacuated the campuses and carried out comprehensive security checks to ensure student safety. A comparable situation had arisen last month as well, when several schools in Ahmedabad were sent similar threatening emails shortly before Republic Day. In each instance, investigations were initiated to trace the source of the emails and assess their credibility, while maintaining heightened vigilance across sensitive locations.
