Gujarat: Woman Distracted by Phone Comes Under Reversing Tractor in Surat; Major Tragedy Averted (Video)

Gujarat: A disturbing incident has caught on camera were a woman got under a tractor while it was reversing. This footage of this incident has surfaced on social media in which woman is walking while looking down at her mobile phone, when a tractor reversing hit her and she falls on ground. Even after that tractor is seen still moving till bystanders stop him. This incident occurred in Surat, Gujarat. 

As per media report, tractor driver was  allegedly intoxicated and this incident has has sparked concern over pedestrian safety and reckless driving in busy city areas. Viral video show woman busy looking at her phone, when tractor parked at back suddenly began to reverse his tractor without checking back.  The tractor struck the woman, knocking her to the ground and briefly pinning her. She struggled to free herself until several men rushed to her aid, pulling her out from under the vehicle and helping her to her feet. She limped away, visibly shaken but conscious.

The video shows the woman and bystanders confronting the tractor driver, who appears to be arguing with them.After the accident, the woman was immediately hospitalized with injuries sustained from the impact and being pinned under the tractor; her condition is stable. Authorities in Surat have launched an investigation into the incident, including the driver's alleged intoxication and escape. CCTV footage is being reviewed to identify the driver and determine accountability.
