Lahori Gate Robbery Case: Two Robbers Who Snatched Bag at Gunpoint in Delhi Arrested; Cash and Arms Recovered
Two accused robbers were arrested from Delhi's Daryaganj area on Wednesday, March 19, for allegedly snatching money loaded from a trader at the Lahori Gate market on March 18. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Ali (21) and Sameer (19). The police also recovered Rs 79.50 lakh cash, a pistol and cartridges from the accused during the arrest.
The accused were identified via CCTV and caught within 24 hours. North Delhi district DCP Raja Banthia said that a man from Ghasiram in Hyderboli was robbed at gunpoint. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case of robbery at the Lahori Gate Police Station.

The incident took place on March 18, an angadiya trader was robbed in daylight at the gunpoint. The incident was caught on CCTV camera where a man snatched a bag containing Rs 80 lakh cash. The shocking incident took place in the busy area of Haveli Haider Quli in Chandni Chowk.

"Following this, teams from Lahori Gate Police Station and Special Staff took action, identifying the spotter who located the cash and the person who executed the crime using firearms, as seen in the video," said DCP Raja Banthia.
"Both were arrested within 24 hours, and nearly Rs 80 lakh along with weapons were recovered. The spotter, Mohammad Ali, a 21-year-old resident of Daryaganj, has a previous 2023 case in Chandni Chowk, where he played a similar role in a Rs 10 lakh robbery," DCP added further.
