In a tragic accident, ten people were killed and 31 others were injured, three to four of whom are reported to be in critical condition, in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup vehicle. According to PTI, the bus was returning from a public function attended by the Chief Minister when it collided with the pickup vehicle in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara on the evening of Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the incident and announced compensation of  Rs 4 lakh each for the kin of the deceased and Rs. 1lakh those injured. CM announced injured persons would be provided free of cost. Near Simaria on Nagpur road, 25 kilometers from district headquarters, an accident killed six men, three women, and a child, according to Superintendent of Police Ajay Pandey.

Chhindwara Collector Harendra Narayan reported 31 injuries, with three to four individuals in critical condition. One critically injured person was transferred to a Nagpur hospital for advanced treatment.
