New Delhi, July 20 A 22-year-old man stabbed his mother in south Delhi's Madangir area on Monday morning. The 45 year-old-woman was rushed to hospital where she was declared brought dead.
"A PCR call regarding a son stabbing his mother was received. On receiving the information of the incident in Madangir Central Market, a team of police officials visited the place where a lady aged about 45 years was found in an unconscious state. The accused has been apprehended but the woman succumbed to her injuries," said DCP South, Atul Thakur.
The 22-year-old accused has been identified as Sagar. He is said to be a drug addict.
The police is trying to verify the reason of the extreme step and is interrogating Sagar.
A case of murder has been registered and further investigation is underway.
