Bhubaneswar, April 8 Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 36 industrial projects with investments worth Rs 40,811 crore at Bhuinpur near Begunia in Khordha.

Of these, 25 projects were inaugurated, while foundation stones have been laid for 11.

While addressing a public meeting on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Odisha is no longer just a state with vast potential but is now experiencing the touch of prosperity.

He noted that these projects are expected to create more than 59,000 jobs.

These industrial projects include sectors such as green energy equipment, metals and downstream industries, textiles and apparel, plastics, tourism, agriculture and food processing, defence production, information technology, automobiles, and cement industries. They will be established across various districts and will accelerate the state’s economic growth.

The Chief Minister said that a new yet significant chapter has been added to the golden journey of a ‘Samruddha Odisha’.

He added that this is the real reflection of the ongoing second industrial revolution in the state. According to him, Odisha is progressing from commitment to implementation and from potential to prosperity, and the government fulfils the promises it makes.

Majhi further said that in the next two to three years, Odisha will not remain merely a state with potential but will have already begun to experience prosperity.

He noted that in the coming years, the state will emerge as a fully developed and prosperous state on the global stage.

Stating that the creation of 59,000 jobs is no small achievement, the Chief Minister said the state government, over the past 18–20 months, has laid foundation stones and inaugurated 109 projects worth around Rs 2.5 lakh crore, generating approximately 1.76 lakh employment opportunities.

He added that today’s programme alone has attracted investments of over Rs 40,000 crore and created 59,000 jobs.

He also said that products which were earlier imported from abroad will now be manufactured on the soil of Khordha.

He described this achievement as a matter of pride and honour. Goods manufactured in Odisha will reach global markets, strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem towards self-reliance. These industrial projects will play a crucial role in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat, Majhi added.

At the beginning of the programme, the Chief Minister participated in a special roundtable meeting with industrialists from different states and outside Odisha, where discussions were held regarding upcoming projects in the state.

He assured that the Odisha government is committed to providing all necessary support for industrial development.
