A part of a floor at the Army’s Sena Bhawan in New Delhi was closed on Friday after a soldier tested positive for Covid-19. The affected area of the Bhawan has been shut for sanitation and disinfection. Actions as per protocol, such as contact tracing and quarantine are in progress. "One soldier tested positive for COVID-19. The affected area of Sena Bhawan closed for sanitation and disinfection," an official told PTI.

Sena Bhavan is the headquarters of the Indian Army. The total number of coronavirus cases in India rose to 81,970 on Friday as the death toll touched 2,649. According to Health Ministry India has over 51,000 active cases.The World Bank, during the day, approved $1 billion 'Accelerating India's Covid-19 Social Protection Response Program' to support the country's efforts for providing social assistance to the poor and vulnerable households, severely impacted by the pandemic.
