According to officials, the threatening email was received earlier in the day, prompting the hospital administration to immediately inform the authorities. The police launched a swift response, cordoning off the area and conducting thorough checks across the campus. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads were called in to carry out a detailed search operation inside the hospital building. Security has been tightened in and around the premises as a precautionary measure.
A similar threat was received last month as well prompting police to swing into action and an extensive search operation inside and outside the campus. The suspicious mail also contained religious slogans. The unidentified mail sender also wrote, "Sorry, but we have no other way to make our demands heard. If for some reason they are not implemented, the members will come inside the medical college and blow themselves up along with all the staff, similar to the Sri Lankan Easter suicide attack. We want to make a statement, and your office is currently the easiest target. We take responsibility and want our voices heard at all costs."
