In a bizzare claim Congress leader Ravichandra Gatti, believes rum and two half-fried eggs can give everyone a cure from Coronavirus. In a video which has gone viral, the Councillor from Karnataka says "Add a teaspoonful of ground pepper in 90 ml rum and stir it well with your finger and drink it. Eat two half-fried omelettes to ensure that the coronavirus vanishes," Gatti also said that he has tried many medicines to tackle the virus and after everything failed, he's of the opinion that only rum and eggs will work.

According to a New Indian Express report, Gatti is a social worker. Congress leaders from the district were planning to discuss the issue. Mangaluru MLA UT Khader said said the district administration should find out why Gatti shared the video on social media. "Gatti has been a social worker for the past 15 years.
